    Use small claims court. In Minnesota at least the value goes up to $7500.00 so it should be more than sufficient for your case.

      Small claims court doesn't charge the guy with a criminal record, I'll go after him for class 4 felony first and small case afterward. Either way, it seems like I should be good. Might have to find me a lawyer too.
